"Olympus Has Fallen" Sequel Gets a Release Date

2013′s hit action flick Olympus Has Fallen has a sequel on the way…next year. It was recently announced that domestic distribution rights to London Has Fallen have been acquired by Focus Features. The plot of the sequel revolves around the prime minister of Britain dying “under mysterious circumstances.”

As far as casting, Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, and Aaron Eckhart are set to reprise their roles. The sequel will be directed by Antoine Fuqua and will be written by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt, all from the first film, along with Christian Gudegast.

Olympus Has Fallen had an estimated budget of $70 million and went on to make $160 million in theaters worldwide, and I’m sure the sequel will be just as successful, if not more.

London Has Fallen is slated to be released on October 2, 2015.
