Jennifer Lopez has had years of amazing success and gathered numerous awards, and on May 18th at the Billboard Music Awards, she’ll be adding the Icon Award to her list of accomplishments.
The Icon Award recognizes lifetime achievement and an artist’s remarkable contribution to popular music. Lopez is the 4th artist and 1st woman to receive the award, joining the likes of Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince.
JLo will also be tearing up the stage with Pitbull to premiere the official anthem of this year’s FIFA World Cup, “We Are One (Ole Ola).”
“Jennifer Lopez is one of the most iconic performers of her generation,” said Larry Klein, producer of the Billboard Music Awards. “We are thrilled to honor her historic career with the 2014 Icon Award and will be on the edge of our seats like everyone else when she takes the stage.”
Other performers of the night include 5 Seconds of Summer, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, John Legend and OneRepublic.
JLo also recently announced her new album and it’s release date, so you have even more of a reason to keep your eye on J-Lo this year.
