R&B starlet K. Michelle‘s debut album Rebellious Soul debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and when you listen to the LP, it isn’t hard to see why.
The album is full of hits, including lead single “V.S.O.P.”, but one track that stands out in particular is “Sometimes”. This power ballad is about the uncertainty of a lost lover returning to you to mend the once ideal relationship that existed; as the song puts it “Sometimes they do come back , and sometimes they don’t”.
The last part of the track is especially impressive as K. belts outs some incredible notes that you can literally feel as you listen to the ballad. I would love to see a music video for this amazing track or to see K. perform it live.
