One of the best parts of this album is amongst 11 songs there is only one featured artists J. Cole who appears on the first song on the album. From that track on the album is purely Elle. She adorns every track with her soulful voice and flawless riffs bringing her lyrics to life. On each track she is accompanied by amazing beats that mix a motown and hip-hop sound. When listening to this album all I really could do was vibe, bopping my head and swaying side to side. The best part of this album though is the lyrics, they are so relatable. Every track presents a message that I related to in one way or another and I think so many people will as well. Each track had at least one line that was not only quotable but so hard not to make my bio on every social network I’m on. The most notably relatable tracks for me were "Not Tonight" and "So Fly", so I definitely want everybody reading this to give them a chance.
This album is uniquely Elle Varner and even though you can tell she’s been influenced musically by other artists you can still grasp Elle’s unique sound. I would also recommend listening to the track by track commentary Elle did for Spotify that really helps you understand her writing and composing process that comes naturally to her. Basically this album is amazing and whether you liked "Refill" or not you should sit down and give this album the time it deserves.
