Drake Covers VIBE's Race Issue and Talks Prejudice and Competition

After yet another (well deserved) successful year, Drake covers The Race Issue of VIBE Magazine and opens up about struggles that he's dealt with in life because of his race. The Canadian rap superstar sat down with VIBE magazine to discuss the racism he experienced when he was younger, as well as competition in the music industry.

Check out a couple small excerpts from the interview below

On racism: “The racism I experienced was being Jewish,” Drake said. “Jewish kids didn’t understand how I could be black and Jewish… it was just stupid, annoying rich kids that were close-minded and mean.”

On competition: “My competition is nobody else, by the way. It’s just me and ‘Ye.”

Look for The Race Issue of VIBE Magazine when it hits newsstands in January.
