2013 Overview - Vanity52

2013 is literally a couple of hours away from being over, so I thought it would be interesting to share the most read posts of the past few months (being as though I only started in July) and to give my thoughts on what's happened this year. Check out everything below.

1.) Interview with Colby O'Donis - The most popular post on the site has been my interview with singer/songwriter Colby O'Donis. This was definitely one of my favorite interviews and I have to admit that I was a bit starstruck being as though Colby is a huge artist and one of my favorites. I'm very grateful to have been able to meet and chat with him and he was very chill when we were chatting. This is definitely one of my biggest accomplishments of the year and I can't thank Colby and his team enough for setting the interview up.

2.) Music Video: Girls United - Pink Champagne - The ladies of Girls United caused a big buzz here on the site with their video for their cover of Ariana Grande's "Pink Champagne". Uniters loved the video and they loved the feature that I wrote on the girls a few months before they released the cover for the video. I absolutely adore GU and will definitely continue following them throughout their career.

3.) On the Rise: Ashley DuBose - My girl Ashley DuBose was featured on NBC's The Voice earlier this year, but before that, I wrote a feature on her to get more people to see the immense amount of talent she possesses. Obviously, The Voice opened a lot of people's eyes and they took notice of Ashley, but readers here on Vanity52 also took notice when they read the feature and heard her amazing music. Ashley got so much positive feedback on her music and personality and I'm glad that she's been given the opportunity to show people that she isn't playing around; she will be a game changer and her journey is just beginning.

4.) EP Review: Aubrey O'Day - "Between Two Evils - I've loved Aubrey O'Day since the Making the Band days on MTV, so it was only right that I reviewed her first solo project entitled Between Two Evils. The EP was amazing and her Aubtourage showed a lot of support by sharing the post all over Twitter and Facebook, giving it way more views and feedback than I thought it would get. Go check out my review and buy the EP yourself, you won't regret it.

5.) Interview: Brianna Cash - One of my other favorite interviews to date was with Philly based singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist Brianna Cash. Brianna has been doing amazing things here in Philly, and there's no question that her talents will take her even further. I'm glad to have been able to meet and befriend her; if you haven't already, go check out the interview now.

At the end of the day, 2013 has been an amazing year for me and words can't describe how thankful I am for everyone who has been helping get the word out about my site. I'm even more grateful for all of the artists who took the time to sit down and do interviews with me and those who have reached out to give advice, support, etc. 2013 has brought about amazing opportunities and 2014 will be even better. I can't wait to work even harder and show everyone what I can do.
