Drake's "Nothing Was the Same" Debuts at #1

Drake is sitting on top of the world. After becoming the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors and recently having two top 10 singles, "Started From the Bottom" and "Hold On We're Going Home", the Canadian rap star's latest album Nothing Was The Same has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Nothing Was The Same has over 658,000 copies in it's first week, which is the second highest sales in the span of one week so far in 2013 (next to Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience which sold 968,000 earlier this year).

The 26 year old rapper has seen the number one spot before; his sophomore album Take Care, which was released back in 2011, debuted at #1 with 631,000 sold in it's first week.

Nothing Was The Same also earns the biggest week for any hip-hop album since Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV hit #1 with 964,000 copies sold in September of 2011.
