Feature: Chrystina Sayers

When you've been in the industry for a few years, you're bound to run into some hardships, but Chrystina Sayers didn't let that keep her down. Her positive attitude and passion for music has kept her going, and now she has some big things in the works.

Chrystina first got her start in the music industry in 2008 when she was a part of the CW's Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Chrys worked hard and showed the judges (Robin Antin, Lil' Kim, and Ron Fair) that she was serious about her music career and she was selected as one of the members of the group at the show's end.
(Girlicious: Natalie Mejia, Chrystina Sayers, Nichole Cordova, and Tiffanie Anderson)
Girlicious' debut self titled album went platinum in Canada and received positive reviews from critics, which helped them gain a larger fan base and more support. After touring with Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys, the girls signed a new record deal with Universal Music Canada and the label decided to take the group in a new direction and removed Tiffanie Anderson from the group. Afterwards, Girlicious released their 2nd album entitled Rebuilt in 2010 which reached number 5 on Canada's pop music charts.

Some time went on & the group, unfortunately, disbanded giving Chrystina an opportunity to pursue her solo career. While working on her solo career however, she was asked by Robin Antin to join the new Pussycat Dolls lineup. In her interview with Vibe Vixen, Chrystina said:
"To be honest I was actually working on my solo project before that but Robin pretty much figured out everybody that she wanted. She really thought I would be a great asset to the group, so I kind of rolled with it for a while. After we did the Go Daddy commercial for the Super Bowl she (Antin) told me I didn’t have a choice and I couldn’t leave. I had to be in The Pussycat Dolls. She really wanted me in and I didn’t want to let her down." She then added "I felt like I already went down the path of the girl group thing. I’m very focused and I know what I want to do and being a part of a girl group is definitely not what I want anymore. So I ended up not doing it and I walked away."
After showing she has what it takes to be a star on her own, Chrys continued working on her solo career and released her debut solo single "Alive" on September 18th, 2012. The flirty pop track showcased Chrystina's vocals as well as giving new listeners a peek into her fun personality.

Now, Chrystina is working on her debut solo project and plans to give fans what they've been waiting for, while also bringing in new fans. I've been supporting Chrystina since day 1, and I can't wait for everyone else to realize how amazing she is.
