"Magna Carta Holy Grail" Certified Platinum

While Jay-Z's latest album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" just dropped today, it's already been certified platinum. This marks Jay's 12th platinum album to date.

Samsung purchased a million copies of the album and gave them away to Samsung users for free via the Magna Carta app on Google Play.

While RIAA's initial certification policy stated that an album had to be available for 30 days prior to official certification, Jay prompted RIAA to alter this policy. Now the policy counts digital album sales upon immediate release.
